What Did You Do To Your 2ND GEN RAM Today?

RE: What Did You Do To Your RAM Today?
i ditched the clutch fan setup & installed a set of dual fans from a 98 windstar....after 10 minutes of them running, the larger fan motor's bearings started squealing horribly....so i uninstalled those fans and installedmy backup dual electric fans, from a 2001 Grand Prix GTP. on the test drive i let the truck warm up to the 210'ish range where it usually sat with the clutch fan, then flipped the switch for the electrics, temp stayed in the 200-210 range, never got any higher even while romping on it pretty hard.
now that there's more room in the engine bay, i'll probably tackle the plenum leak, 180 thermostat, water pump, and install steel ringed headgaskets soon

I put a new Pioneer DEH-P3900MP in the truck today. Next weekend, I'll do some new speakers.

Today I changed my oil ( 3000 miles already ) and hacked off my exhaust. I got tired of the leaky air holes over the rear axle and on the tailpipes before the chrome tips ( muffler mend only works for so long ) so I cut the pipes off after the muffler and clamped on two 2-1/4" turndowns on a slight 35 degree angle. The exhaust now has a really low sound at idle but no more air leaks. Wonder if I should just point them straight down instead of at an angle.

more like this weekend...
-took the checkvalve off the trans (kept locking up at the angle I had it at)
-tested the shortened belt
-went to homedepot and made some shackles for the leafsprings for the track.
-new tires in the rear
-chained a tv to the back
-took gas out of the tank by cumbustable means
thats about it.
