Oh. Thanks for the heads up. If sand paper is bad for it, I would imagine steel wool is as well? I was just going to use a real light grit sand paper.
When I ran a crew at a big-rig truck wash in Post Falls, ID, we used brillo pads for chrome bumpers and pipes, and they worked really well. Once they started getting really rusty you could scratch something, but as long as they were in decent shape I don't recall any scratches.
i just got off the phone with randys ring and pinion. its going to cost about 1k for front and rear 4.10 gears, master install kits for both axles, wheel bearings for the rear, the adjuster tool for the rear end and a new carrier for the front. he said that i would only save 24$ by getting the thick cut gears as opposed to getting a new carrier so i guess that'll be fine.
and i'm going to install them myself and save 900$ in labor.
so that 1000$ that i'm going to get next month will be put to good use for the new gears.
umm, im new to this, but i did the front u-joints today. new to the whole dodge forum, but its a sweet site, ive had a lot of rams 4 to be exact and im 18 lol
