What Did You Do To Your 2ND GEN RAM Today?
Dropped and picked it back up from the shop after getting new brakes, rotors, u-joints, and a wheel bearing. Nice smooth ride now. I would have fixed it myself but my broken ankle is in the way.
Checked the oil... yep, still there. 2.3K miles and still like it came straight from the bottle. But I do have a lifter tick. Hmm...
Also added up all of my receipts from all the work done.
Dodge Ram= $3050
Parts= $1230
Service (Half-A$$ed and redone by me)=$2649
Total= $6,929
This is the most expensive dump I'VE ever taken

A few weeks ago, I noticed that my exhaust was getting louder and louder. I had my son rev the engine a few times while I hunched under the truck and noted a couple of cracks in the muffler. I figured those, and perhaps the inlet of the muffler were the cause. Wednesday, I finally had time to return to the muffler shop where the owner/operator put the truck over the pit and went underneath to inspect.
WHOOPS! There was a large hole in the top of the muffler, almost the size of his hand. He had to order a new one from Gibson (I'm running 3" inlet' 3" outlet, no restriction) and it arrived yesterday. When he removed the old muffler, the hole showed itself to be approximately 3" wide by 6.5" long and two of the baffles were exposed. The pieces broke off and fell inside, rattling when the muffler was shaken.
The muffler has a lifetime warranty and the tech want defective stock returned for analysis. My installer had to note which side was the top so that usual rust wasn't attributed as the cause. So, I got a new muffler at no charge, but I gave him $25 for his time, which is more than he wanted, and he really didn't want me to pay him anyway.
Now, the truck is silky-smooth quiet.

3" from the collector through the cat and the muffler to the end of the truck.

My step brother called and wants me to buy his 99 Ranger 4x4. I like Ford but not sure if I need another stain in the driveway. Also decided I need new rockers and passenger Cab corner. Looking for a experienced body repairman. That stuff aint cheap!
Driving my truck for a couple days bc my other car has only the arms holding the drums on
had some issues doing the coilovers for it...but still love driving my dodge but hate how the dash is cracking up.
