Weather has finally started to cooperate - or the weeather did not realize that I had a day off today - so I hit the bed of the truck with etching primer today.

Received my Catch Can today, so while I was cleaning up garage and rearranging everything so I have more room for painting, I decided to install the can.

I know....a Catch Can is overkill for a stock engine. In my fleet of vehicles, only one of them has less than 100,000 miles, and more than one has over 250,000 miles. I figure the more crap I can keep out of the intake has to be better.

Dropped my truck off to have the tranny fixed. Going with some towing upgrade options.

Jacked up my paint job today. It appears that if you mix the primer wrong, it can have adverse effects. Seems the primer needed to be mixed with hardner instead of reducer. Cans all look alike..... Bottom line - after about 6 hours it still isn't dry. So I have to re do this. Anyone know if lacquer thinner or reducer will take it off or do I have to awit until totally dry and sand?

Thanks.

Took the old girl to Atlanta yesterday night to pickup my sister from the bus station.

Got 15.2mpg on the trip. I'm sure I could have hit 16 if it weren't for the traffic, street U turns, and trying to find an open gas station on the way home (for Red Bull, not gas)

On a side note: I REALLY need to get my blend door fixed....

Yesterday I polished up my headlights/fog lights... Look brand new again! Used Restorem Headlight Kit... Good ****!

Hunting down a used intake manifold is my top priority right now, gonna clean it up and paint it and put the plate on. Then maybe change that sucker!

Took the truck in yesterday to have an inspection done...an inspection that cost me $326. It failed the braking test of the inspection process, they tested it 3 times, it failed every time by 5 feet. Found a leaky brake booster, replaced it, tested it again, and now it stops within spec.
Hmm....over $1000 I have put into brakes in the almost 2 years I have owned this truck. And I got a new mod! The Holy Dash mod!

Hit a speed bump I always forget about in an apartment complex.

New booster:

I took mine into a Dodge dealer today to look at a new one. They had some really nice prebuilt models with 12" lifts, and 37" Trail Grappler tires. But for 47K, I think I will just build the one I have. They did have a nice 11 model mega cab, Laramie, fully decked out. Its was 41K, with 16000 miles on it.

So, next week, its time to start building.

Installed my transmission today with the help off a friend. Note to self, either remove the exhaust system out of the way next time or take the truck some where and have it lifted up...last time I try to wedge a nv3500 into place on my back.

Headed out of town pics later...
