Nice! If you put a different motor in something here, you still have to comply with the standards that apply to the VIN. (I think...)

that would suck. there are so many stupid laws around emission testing that they should almost scrap it all together. you can clearly see what car should not be on the road emission wise. if it is a gas vehicle and it is putting out a fair amount of black smoke it should not be on the road.

I couldn't care less. Human's carbon footprint is 1/100th of nature's, we will never be the deciding factor in whether the ozone survives or not.

Inspections are stupid. I am ripping my inspection sticker off my truck the second I leave this place, even though I will leave it LA registered until the tags expire before registering in WA.
You're leaving me?!

Inspections aren't too bad....with an inspection I found that my truck rolled past the stop line by 5 feet...which also cost me a new brake booster. Then again, I also had a blown plenum at the time. Which after I fixed that it stops even better now. Oh, well.

I feel like using this guy:

Back in the 80s - & 90's they use to make us Here in S.C. have an inspection sticker on our windshield .. You're car had to pass emissions and a visual inspection which cost $30.00 on top of the $15.00 for the sticker itself "Yearly". What got my goat was the paper mill I worked at here dumped poisons in the air and river by the tons every day.. We could have ran muffler-less cars for a year and not polluted the air half as bad as this mill dose in one day..
