10K for paint! What was he smoking? I would think $3k would certainly be enough, and that may be high.

I don't think the 1/2 ton frame is heavy duty enough for the cummins.

there is no difference between 1/2 ton and 3/4 ton frames or suspension except for the stiffer springs.

And heavier duty axles...... I don't think a D44 would much appreciate the weight of der diesel.......

Oh yes it can be done and has been! On stock axles! I'm a 2WD so its easier. I've read of guys pushing 400-600 HP through the stock Chrysler 9.25. Imagine 400 HP and 25 MPG in a pickup lighter than a 3/4 ton should be fun. And yes its a 12 valve. Not sure if its P-pumped or not yet. I've still got lots of research to do and money to save. But if its free, then that cuts a lot right off the bat.

Welcome to DF. Always nice to see women on here. You may wanna check out the third gen section of the forum for input on parts for your truck, as this is the second gen forum (1994-2001)

Since you get the whole truck the swap would be pretty simple. is the truck a 2nd gen? If so you could pretty much do it for free. If not, it would be a bit harder to get the wiring to talk, but still very possible.
