you think I'm gonna waste diesel spillin it at the fuel station?! stuff costs like 40 cents a gallon more than premium gasoline! its ridiculous.
I'd hope not! And I feel your pain to an extent, our boiler runs on diesel. Costs a friggin' fortune to fill that thing.

36 gallon tank...not 36 gallons purchased...

usually get 28-32 gallons when I fill up.

you can't run a mechanical injection diesel out of fuel or you cause damage to the injection pump and you have to bleed the injection pump, and injection lines to get them to start again...

Gasoline is $3.30 or so right now a gallon. For our 35 gallon tank, that costs $115.50, but it has been more expensive in the past.

cheap 87 octane gas here is $4.50 a gallon and the 91 octane gas is $4.92 gallon. up here diesel seems to cost about the same as 87 octane gas but sometimes it is cheaper.

it used to be cheaper than 87 octane here, but that changed in 2008 when they did the ULSD crap...they also added 18 wheeler taxes on top of the fuel cost as well so now the cheapest fuel to make costs more than premium unleaded.

they are just trying to make up for diesels superior fuel economy. example: TDI's have always gotten 40+mpg and the newest ones are pushing into the 60+MPG range in a full sized car. the only thing gasoline has to offer remotely close to that is the ridiculous prius hybrid car that has less space, less luxury, less performance, higher maintenance, and still less fuel economy.

VW has a new TDI hybrid concept (XL1) for the european market that is getting 235MPG its gutless as its a 800cc 2-cylinder diesel (47hp) mated to a 20kW (27hp) electric motor. If getting from point A to point B is all you need to do, that mileage is hard if not impossible to beat...It would cost more to drive an electric car that distance for the price...

even electric cars are getting hit...

all electric cars in my state are getting hit with a $150 additional tax at registration because they don't pay the road taxes that are added into the fuel costs at the pump.

Thanks for explaining that. i keep forgetting to go find out why that's been. My dad gripes to me when that happened back then as he and the momz roll in 2500 2wd with a 5th wheel.

I did nothing to the Ram today but did do oil change on the wife's explorer. Fricken hate it. Oil plug goes side ways so it shot its load side ways all over everthing.
