So everything for our trucks are discontinued?

I have a deathflashed computer but installed a Hypertech in 2009 for larger tires but it was stolen so now I'm stuck with it. I don't think spending $500 bucks is worth it. Or is it?

Mine is light and day difference. I took it off one day because I was getting some really bad pinging and couldn't even drive it for 10 miles I got so used to having the extra throttle response and power. I had to retune it and I just deal with the pinging. I'd love to do something about the pinging under load because it's really bad when I hit overdrive but engine still runs good besides that. I have a 180 t stat and everything also.

Try running some seafoam thru the intake. It helps clean out the combustion chambers, and can reduce pinging.

Pinging, or, spark knock, or, pre-ignition, whatever you want to call it, can destroy your motor.... You really need to address that. Try stepping up a notch on fuel octane, see if anything changes.

If you're using my tuning from 3 years ago, there's a ton of changes in the tuning software now so I'd like to get you the updated tunes. I know we had some differences trying to get a replacement discontinued tuner in your hands due to your failed unit that SCT wouldn't support so I don't recall how all that ended up. Send me an email to hemifever@hemifevertuning.com . and oftentimes the pinging is due to a current leaking intake gasket or an old one that has been repaired but the engine never seafoamed. I can walk you through that as well if you hit me up.

That is my fear as well. I fought the pinging for years and why I got the deathflash in 02. Wasn't until years later that people figured it out. So I finally broke down and bought a Hypertech in 07 and it pinged terribly (even with all the 'fixes' done).

So now that I'm hearing SCT can do the same thing, I'm disappointed. Again, my pcm is still loaded with Hypertech but just for the tire size. Then it was stolen so I can't get another tune without replacing the pcm or something.
