running carter AFB 4bbl vacuum secondary on Magnum 318 with mag heads. Using LA vacuum advance dizzy as it bolts right into the block. Funny thing is that the PCM engages the fuel pump... i'm using a holley regulator to step down the factory 50psi pump to the 3-5psi that the carb needs.

Problem is PCM refuses to run the gauges. I'm tempted to try datalinking with the PCM and see if it will talk to me and tell me why it won't do what it is supposed to do.

But at any rate, the ultimate goal is to be rid of the darn PCM for good. And that is about to happen very shortly.

That will take care of my cruise control Probably use HND-7 for the handle, so it operates as my steering tilt and my cruise control.

i am pretty sure the pcm don't control the gauges. the sensors on the engine should do that.

Well, I'm glad you didn't down grade to an LA.

PCM controls tachometer, speedometer, voltmeter, IDK if this ram is one that uses the PCM to run the fuel level gauge as I know some did. It never adjusts the fuel level unless the PCM is plugged in.

All gauges are controlled by the PCM.

Computer DOES control the tach, I've verified this with my Chrysler certified tech who DOESN'T lie, it also says it in black and white in the FSM.

And yes the speedo is controlled by the PCM, I have a VSS in my transfer case. I had my speedo working back when the engine was EFI, it worked without the rear dshaft hooked up since it was in the tcase. Tried it now and it didn't work.

Remember crazzy, this is a 1996 OBDII compliant (from factory that is) truck.
