SO 24v motor was 235hp 460tq stock
HO 24v motor was 245hp 505tq stock

however the HO vp44 injection pump is undesired. it actually has smaller fuel plungers in it limiting it's fueling abilities.

HOVP44 = 7mm fuel plungers
SOVP44 = 7.5mm fuel plungers

doesn't sound like much difference, but with injectors, wiretap fueling, etc it can make over a 100hp difference...

just wiretap fueling alone it makes a big difference...

buddy of mine has an 02 HO truck. He dyno'ed with just his edge comp box and a boost elbow on his turbo... 289hp 661tq
my truck when it had just the adrenaline and a boost elbow: 362hp 882tq

the SO injection pump makes that big of a difference without injectors.

the gap only gets larger when you start adding more fuel and air...

before my heavy mods...

just adrenaline and a boost elbow on the stock turbo...

shows stock power and full power so you can see the loss through the drivetrain. 235hp/245hp is flywheel rated. this shows actual loss through the trans and rear end..

My point....every thread turns to gibberish eventually. Some sooner, some later....and now watch, the whiners will complain the mods are posting gibberish in the WTF thread.

Cool jig I just learned something new.

I looked at several 24valves in years past when we were thinking to upgrade to a 3/4 ton, but we never got one.

We still are kicking ourselves for the deal we missed.

2000 Dodge Ram 2500HD, quad cab short box, 4wd, auto, 24valve, you name it it had it. Stock engine and trans though, excepting the upgraded trans cooler. Only had 50K on it, they were asking $6500...

So is there any way to tell the pumps apart visually?

I'll take some free gas

usually costs under $30 to fill my 4-banger up. (only holds 10 gallons)
