My theory for the previews for next week (no spoilers, as the previews are available online...) Rick is acting the way he is because he had to kill people, not walkers, he's never hesitated to kill walkers, so that wouldn't upset him....

 

I think someone close to him gets killed, and that's why he has to kill people.
