^^ Stewie01.......That car dealer smokin something. A kid with a flat bill hat traded for a diesel I had and I being the good steward I am, convinced him he'd be lucky to get $800 for his truck since it had an auto in it. He's the proud owner of a diesel today. I miss that old diesel. K.

da ***... that truck is in my area too! they are smokin something.... automatics aren't worth crap. and that truck certainly isn't worth almost 30k... 18k sure, for the miles it has and the condition... but 27-28k no f'in way.

KBB says "reasonable" price is 20-23K.... which still seems outrageous for a 12 year old truck to me.....

It's a great looking truck and super low miles too, but my boss bought a new 2500 cummins 4x4 crew with automatic about 4 months ago for $39k here in TN.

Like real estate, truck prices are based on condition, location, location, and location.

Fiance called her insurance agent to see what it would cost to put my 2007 Dodge and my 2006 Mazda 3 on her policy (Virginia) and we learned I could get almost triple the coverage I currently have for much, much less. The woman she was talking to told her she knew several people who would be willing to pay top-dollar for my truck, were I interested in selling it. Finance told her that wasn't going to happen.

I got bored today and so I called a parts supplier about a tailgate for the Ram 2500. He said yeah, he has 2 and wanted $450. I figured he was smokin some of the same stuff that car dealer was earlier today. So, I called a buddy who owns a car lot and he gives me a local supplier (first says no, then calls back and says yes $150 + tax). I pull in, the guy sends his helper back to bring it out for inspection. It's a nice looking tailgate, and it was the same color this 97 was from the factory (emerald green). It even had the cables hanging off of it. I've been lucky lately, hope it holds up.

Since I consider the diesel a work truck, I think I'll just leave it on as is and leave the farm truck gate as is (black) and not worry about color scheme (might be a lucky tailgate). K.
