I do the hard math, Gallons pumped vrs Miles on trip.
Im getting 10.5-11.0 depending on how much city/hwy. Which is about 1.5 MPG less then stock before all the add ons. And My speedo is correct, been adjusted for tire height.

I dunno how some of you are getting 18. Must be the 318 and 4x2's. 18 is even better then the MPG listed on them new.

You can check most cars 1985 and newer here. http://www.fueleconomy.gov

My buddy has his sticker, hes got a 99 Quadcab 5.9 4x4. His list 11/16 (city hwy). Its alittle different then the site listed above. But he still only got around 13-14 when he was all stock.. These guys getting 18+ must be strait highway or have there speedo's off.. I just cant see getting 18 in these trucks stock.. but I live in the city so my perception is based on a good amount of city/highway.

no i dont have a supercharger and my speedo is correct cause i ive near a speed sign that shows you speed. i just baby my truck a lot. i was geting 18 with a lot of highway but now i average about 14-18. just now did the math and im averaging 16.621 mpg on an 87-91 octane mix on this tank. ive got smaller tires with the stock gears. i dont know if that makes a difference. check the sig its the 360

Mine is a 2wd, 318. Only mods are a K&N FIPK and a Flowmaster cat back. It can touch 18mpg highway, but only when speeds stay less than 65 mph, which is around 2000 rpm for me in OD. Any higher speeds and it drops, with the last recent trip being about 320 miles round trip. I only checked the mileage going UP (elevation change of about 3500 feet) and verified speed by GPS. My speedo is about three miles an hour faster than actual speed at 60 mph, so I compensate.

My '99 Z28 (LS1) M6 with mods, gets right at 30mpg on the highway at 75mph. It's only doing 1550 rpm though. Requires 93 octane, but it truly does get that. About 18 in mixed driving.

its just hard for me to believe that a 318 or a 360 will get better mileage than a new hemi with mds. infact, i donnt believe it.

Well, I won't try to convince you otherwise, but I've owned my truck for eleven years and that's been an average for that time. Well-maintained with high quality oil and filters, I keep the K&N clean and very lightly oiled. I keep 38 psi in the tires and I run NEXEN SUV tires. They are more of a highway tread and run great. They would not be my first choice for off-road traction, but they are good all-weather tires on a mostly pavement driven 2wd.

I guess that I have a little grandpa-itis when I'm driving the truck. I'm sort of gentle on the gas and normally do no more than eight over. My daily driver is a 4.6 second 0-60 car, so I don't really have a "need for speed" in the Ram.
