You could still do: Free flowing exhaust. E-fans. Ramair, Lowered suspension with airdams, Smaller higher pressure tires with ultra light weight rims. Manual tranny conversion.

I'd guess you'd get a feew more mpgs from all that.

The cool thing about increasing efficiency is it also liberates performance.

Edit: forgot some...underdrive pulleys. port/polish heads and intake, roller rockers, and much more lol

Must not have looked that hard.

Rather than posting a lot, perhaps you should spend time honing your search skills.

Questions are fine; however, using existing topics would benefit everyone

Dude, I'm a Junior in highschool and I've put $1200 in my truck in the past year fixing it! Not even improving it.....
And I'm living on basically an allowance....

I'm running about 8.5 - 9 mpg for in town driving.

2001 5.9 4x4, running stock sized 265/75/R16's (downsized from previous owners 285's) 3.55 gears
Replaced TPS, IAT, O2 Sensors with NGK
Tranny fluid & filter twice
Regular Oil changes
Hughes Plenum fix
several vacuum leaks fixed
gps check against spedo - fairly close
tried different octanes and stations
SCT tuner, different tunes and octanes

no matter what I do, it won't budge from that unless I do a bunch of highway driving, and then I might hit 11 or so.

I'd like to get it up to 11 in city driving if possible. heck, that would be a 22% increase in mileage, it would save me a heck of a lot at the pump. I'm about tempted to sell this truck on down the line.

Moved the thread from the tech section, and then merged it with the existing gas mileage thread in the General section here.
