I just wish MY drivetrain was working as good after this nightmare! LOL I'm too old for this crap anymore. The brain says no problem, but the old bones say FU!

old thread, i know. i used the search engine! haha, anyway does the 241hd still have that nasty snap ring issue? since you got the 241hd on your 1/2 ton transmission i may just do this swap as i dont have 4 lo right now, and ill need to use that on occasion while plowing this winter.

It bolted to the tranny from the 98, but I don't know if the 98 driveshafts would have fit. I don't think so. I know the rear output seal is different. So you might have drivesaft issues. As far as the snap ring goes, the 241HD does not have that problem. You can't even remove the tailshaft without taking the TC apart.
