You will never pass inspection again with out it, I replaced one not to long ago on a Grand Cherokee, was a dealer only part. Cost right at $100.00

BTW the Cherokee had a 5.2 in it, so parts should be about the same, when you call the dealer have the VIN handy depending on year and when it was made within that year may depend on what one you need.

Oh I'm not worried about that we don't get inspected here I just need to know if it would hurt anything to bypass the vapor canister and run vacuum straight to the fuel regulator

Yes, it will. You will be applying a vacuum to your gas tank, which is NOT what you want to do. That will work the pump harder, and possibly smoke it. Not to mention that you will constantly be drawing gas vapors into the engine, which will upset a few other systems.....

You have a vacuum line to your fuel pressure regulator? So far as I know, fuel pressure on these trucks isn't vacuum modulated......

If you are running rich, I would take a look at how old your O2 sensors are, and also see what your coolant temp sensor for the PCM thought the temp of the engine was.

If it is sucking gas into the cannister..... just plug the line that goes to the tank. It goes to the rollover valve, not the pressure regulator. These systems are not vacuum modulated. (at least, nothing I can find in the service manual points to that....)

The line goes to the regulator...otherwise what else could cause my engine to keep flooding out?

Failing coolant temp sensor. (the two wire guy on the drivers side of the thermostat housing, the one on the passenger side is for the gauge in the dash.)
