ya another obama wonderful ideas ! ! waste vehicals to make money instead of making money on them. its vehicals that could of been used for people like me thats POOR that would love to have a truck like that ! its hideos . there was alot of cars and trucks wasted . i seen alot of cameros and stuff in good condition like these rams beeing blown up also . serious i could use a new motor in my truck ! better idea to blow it up

The idea behind it was to get more fuel efficient vehicles on the road, and give the auto manufacturers a shot in the arm on sales. What it really accomplished was to put people into NEW trucks, that got barely discernible better mileage, and blow the crap out of the used market. For a while there, you couldn't find a used GM truck to save your life, and if you DID find one, the price was outrageous. And then, instead of those 'clunkers' going to the scrap yard, like they were supposed to, they got put on ships, taken to various foreign nations, and resold. Most of them were perfectly good.

It was a stupid idea, with **** poor implementation, and even worse oversight. Of course, coming from the Federal Government, I expect nothing less.

 

I was looking for a truck when I was 14. Stopped, and then started RIGHT after CFC. Guess what?
Trucks disappeared and the prices skyrocketed even higher than the already high Texas prices. Sick bast@rds.
