Default 318 intake on a 360?

Im going to be doing the plenum fix in the near future and figure I'll do the Kegger mod while Im there.

Problem is, my truck is my dd and I want to have the intake all put together and ready to mount before I take the old one off.

Junk yards in my area only have the 318 intake. Will this fit on my 360 or are they non-compatible?

The guy at the JY told me the p/n was different and he didn't want to give me the 318 when I told him what I wanted it for. I understand his reasoning, just wanted to make sure before I twist his arm into giving it to me. LOL

There are a few differences in the manifolds.... Older (pre-96, and some 96's...) had provisions for EGR. In 97 or 98, the center divider in the manifold went away, along with one of the ports for a temp sensor. (change from two sensors, to just one.) Aside from those changes, there is zero difference between the manifolds for 318, or 360. Manifolds just vary slightly according to year of manufacture.

So if I were to get a '98 318 magnum intake, it should have the correct thermostat holes and be good to go.

If it had the wrong number of thermostat holes, what kind of issues would that create?

Yes. Get the 98 318 intake and you'll be good to go!

The center divider went away in 1998 because my 1997 has it. I'm contemplating knocking it out when I rework my intake.

Yep. Bolt right on, hook right up. Probably even all the sensors are the same.

Default Same question

Will a 1993 360 intake fit a 1993 318. Im doing a 360 swap into my 93 that currently has a 318 but the intake on the 360 is trashed. Just wondering if it’ll fit or just buy the new one I plan on maybe putting the 318 heads on my 360 block for better compression ratio.
