Nice job, glad that it is working out for you. Mines been installed for something like 4 or 5 years now, and it is still rock solid. The reason I only did the two slits for the speed nuts is that I didn't want to make a bunch of holes in the a pillar because it does serve a purpose if you get in a roll-over accident. I don't think what you did will cause any issues either, but just wanted to explain why I did it the way I did.

I knew that's why you did it. I thought about not drilling the two extra holes, but said F it.

I can't say enough about how good this mod is, and I can't say enough about how it should be in the DIY section.

Awesome, thanks HY. I hope some people see it that didn't think it was possible and/or have lifted trucks to make getting in easier (or out for that matter) and take the stress off the steering column.

EDIT: VWand D might like this mod too, even though he's in perfect athletic condition.

My ex-wife's husband could use this mod -- He has a stock height Ram 4x4 diesel and at 5'3" needs a ladder just to reach the side-steps!

I originally did this mod so that my wife could get in and out easier when she drove the truck after I started lifting it. Turns out that it was useful for me too.

I noticed this weekend when I was sitting in my father-in-laws '99 2500, he has factory a grab handle on the passenger side up on the ceiling right about centered with the door opening. Getting one of those from some other Ram and installing it on the driverside ceiling would be another option people could do. Just have to at least be tall enough to reach it first.

The way that reads, it sounds like you two took turns picking up the truck while the other person was trying to get inside. I'm just sayin'...
