Ram Body work
I can do that. Work will be weather dependent though. Getting around freezing at night, and dark around 5:30 pm. Hope to keep taking off early most afternoons to be able to work. Got more time off built up than I am supposed to have so I am trying to do a little work each day I can slip off.
Wish I had access to paint booth. Gotta move woife's car out of garage and hang plastic when I get ready to paint, but that won't be for a couple weeks at least. Going to weld, sand, and fill everthing first (she won't let me leave her car out long!)

Dent in bedrail:

Bondo on bedrail:

Could not get it all sanded as it was getting dark outside. Gotta pull bed off to get this one at some point:

Ands I have to do both of these:

And there is a lot of the clear that has deteriorated like this:
[/quote]damn you have lots of dents
At least the dents, although somewhat numerous, weren't as bad as the dash! This thing will be great when it is finished though. Had it not been the exigent circumstance taht it was to help out BIL (the only one out of 9 that I would help) I would never have bought a truck in this condition. But since I have it, it will have to be in excellent condition to reside on my driveway. Won't have a vehicle that does not look good or be trusted on the road.
I found that the hood had already been repainted prior to my BIL getting the truck. Hood paint is in too good a condition, and the pinstriping stops at the front edge of the door. I'll sand it with 400 and repaint to save trying to blend. New coat of paint for whole thing including rocker panels and jambs. thinking about a pearl or metallic, but not sure. Not going as far as lambo doors though.

I was able to do a little work on the body again this afternoon.

Sanded paint from dents at the front of the drivers side bed and the corner of the cab:

Welded a few studs to pull dents:

Dents pulled out some. Cab corner needed a few more studs as you can see part of the dent did not pull. Now the dent is better and studs sanded down. Deepest part of dent now is about 1/16”.

Bondo on front fender that was pulled earlier this week.:

make sure you weld the holes up if you break off the studs. if you leave the holes water can get behind and start to bubble the paint over time. if your going to keep the truck i would spray epoxy primer over the body fill and area after blocking then a high build primer. you can use spray fill, upol works good so does sikkins but you need a gun with a 2.5 minimum tip to spray. spray fill will hide a lot of pin holes and imperfections but you have to put a final coat of primer over top. what type of paint are you using? up in canada it's mostly water based very expencive to do a vehicle
Planning to use PPG acryllic urethane. I used a waterbase for the dash a couple of weeks ago, but decided against it for the exterior. Will be painting a Toyota black metallic (so I can use the same paint to do a little touch up on my Yota also). Had a hair-brained idea earlier - Lambo Doors on the Ram......wonder how that would look.
looks good. if done right bondo is fine. used some over the wheel wells on my 91 and 1 side was done right and the other side never got sealed. the side that did not get sealed took about 2 years to show itself and the side that got sealed is barely noticeable 4 years later
Thanks. As soon as I get each side done I plan to prime and paint. Going to pick up paint tomorrow. When both sidees are don I'll do tailgate and hood, then bang dents out of bed and put on bedliner. Hope it will look like a new truck when done. Trying to keep bondo thin. I know that if it is too thick it will not hold as well.
