i am just working on making sure i am able to afford it and everything else i need. got $235 in parts i want to order from rockauto plus the plenum pan is $55 plus shipping and i currently only have $300 that i can spend. don't get paid till Friday so i will have to wait till then to see what my new budget is.
now i did start working on cleaning up the runners on the intake.
since i am hoping to get the plenum on my ramcharger fixed soon i decided i would take apart the spare intake i picked up and start cleaning it up. hoping to take it to the car wash tomorrow.there must have been water in the intake at one point.
i wish. don't have a soda blaster. got a couple different sand blasters. been thinking about taping up the intake and hitting it with one of the light sand blasters i have.
I just repaired my plenum, here is a picture of the the old plate with all the "fresh" oil pooling inside, compared to my new hughes aluminum plate. The gasket actually wasnt blown out the sides, but rather the whole plate seemed warped on one side...fail. Attachment 19320

me and my buddies made it. i cut the runners short on the manifold, cut out the pieces of 6061 plate stock, took my belly pan and pieces over to the dirt sprint guys, and they welded the "turtle back" together. FLOWS PRETTY WELL!
