ok so ive seen other threads about getting better mpg..but the other threads i see the people wanting more already get around 11-12..i got a spectre air filter and a glasspack and the rest is stock and i get around 9-10. Whats wrong, i do all my tune ups when im suppose to. ANY ideas 5.9 engine
lol um the rear o2 sensor is 2yrs old BOSCH tho...and the front one i havnt replace since ive had it and thats been 6yrs...dont know about the plenum, i dont think its blown bad bc i dont burn any oil(front crank seal leaks so thats were my oil goes) plan on fixing it this summer, foots only heavy on the weekends lol
Yank your front O2 sensor, and see what it looks like. If it looks ugly, replace it with an NTK, or Denso unit. Reset the PCM, and let it relearn. See what that does for ya. (just leave the battery disconnected while you change the sensor. that will reset it.)
My 3/4 ton gets about 12 around town, and with a light load, 16 to 17 on the freeway pretty easy. Of course, I drive like an old man...... (but then, I AM an old man..... seems reasonable eh? )
