Motor swap project started
Burped the coolant several times and temp wants to hover at 229 deg. We put a new thermostat in it and it ssems to be working. Is it possible that the channels in the intake manifold are plugged up? If so anyone have any great ideas to verify or fix?
Probably still has an air bubble somewhere.
If the intake manifold coolant passages get plugged, you have a MUCH bigger problem... they are pretty fair sized, and even with zero maintenance should never really plug up.
Remind me what year is the rental truck?

It is a 95.
so after closer examination the new mopar thermostat was not working. due to time and money we just removed the thermostat and put it back together. at least he will be able to drive it now, i hope nothing else goes wrong for at least a couple of weeks. lol
I didnt have enough time to try and figure out why its ideling high still. It hovers around 1300 rpm and drops to about 850 when in gear. I am going to plug off all the vacuum lines except for the pcv and the brake booster and see what happens.

Im thinking that it just needs a new radiator. I am going to put the thermostat I took out in a pot of water and heat it to 200 deg and make sure it is opening when it should. If it is then i will replace the rad.
