Running it unbalanced will give it an interesting vibration..... that will get worse as RPM goes up. If you leave it like that, it will cause the motor to tear itself apart. I wouldn't run it at all with the wrong parts......

The 318 plate shouldn't have the balancing holes.

Ok, the flexplate shouldn't be all that different from the 318 guy then. In the early years, the balance weights were on the torque converter...... So, torque converter is going to be a problem. Since you have to either pull the engine, or drop the trans... I would swap the flexplates anyway.

If you are dropping this into your 01, you could just reflash the PCM...... get a tuner from hemifever, and be down the road. If it's a 94 or 95 truck, have to get a different PCM. (or, live with it running a bit rich in open loop.)

It is going into a 94. I will live with it rich unleas i happen to find a pcm for cheap. I will pull transmIssion and replace TC and FP. I guess i am going to have to drop the oil pan so i can knock the dipstick tube out from the inside. Me and my dad fought it for about 3 hrs and it moved a whole 1/8" and wont budge. We tried torching it, freezing it, prying it, tapping it out with hammer, and even a easy out. It will spin all day long but just will not pull out. Once those few things are done, all i will have left to do is install the radiator and transmission lines and she will be done. I ran it earlier for about 10 sec or leas but it ran good and under its own power so thats a plus. First time this truck has ran in 3 yrs.

46RE=A518

Different name for the same thing. I believe it can also refer to the 46RH.
