Default Loose Transfer case??

Well I was finally able to get out into the garage today to look at the truck. Finger is healing up good and Classes dont start till 5:30.. anyway... I have had a driveline vibration for sometime now and havent been able to pin-point on were it was coming from.. I checked the driveshaft for any play looking for bad ujoint and there was a little bit of play in the rear ujoint at the axle but not enough to cause this bad of a vibration/noise... When I pushed up on the driveshaft I notice that my transfer case is moving ALOT!!!!

I replaced the transfer case 3 times since owning this truck and never had an issue like this. When installing them I always used the red loctite and have never had them break loose. Actually pulled the studs from the tranfer case the last time it was replaced trying to remove the nuts.. BUT today I came to realize that every single nut was loose on the studs allowing the transfer case to not be seated against the transmisson fully.. I used red loctite when installing the nuts and checked them after about 300 miles and re-tightned if needed. Now all of a sudden they were all loose??? What gives?!!

I did remove the nuts and clean the studs and threads good and replaced them all with more loctite and will be checking it every 100 miles or so.. I just want to know why in the hell this happend??

Because you didn't tighten them enough?after too many beers, LOL Or it wasn't seated properly. That's the only reasons I can think of. This is not a common issue. So you must have forgot or done something wrong.

I remember puttin them on just a little less then gorilla tight and it seem seated good... Hmmmm... you could also be right about the beer situation... BUT the case has been on for about 7 months and ive only been having this vibration for like a month now..

There's no mystery. Human error is what I say. You know there are other problems like the snap ring and cases cracking. Which are common. The bolts coming loose from the tranny is another story.

What's a track bar and what does it do??? Will that cause my tires to not fit?

Well all the nuts backed off again cause my vibration is back. I probably didn't give the loctite enough curing time. So tomorrow I will redo it all again bright and early. Then ill see how it does when I go to class at night
