I believe the rear of the cab has another piece that is fabricated to form a hollow shell to strength, which is why a QC seat mount is more of a relatively flat surface type mount....just by looking at parts manual in body parts.

Got a message form upholstery shop in New York. He received the seat back covering Saturday and finished installing new foam (stiffer) on outer section and covered with fabric. Will ship out tomorrow. Hope to have it by Friday.

I want some pics of the truck outside, not loaded with stuff for the dump. Clean and shiny, and showing off that paint. Doesn't matter if there is a drivers seat or not.

I installed glow shift gauges in a three gauge pod in my Ram several months ago (can't find that thread) but I thought I would give an update.

I installed the pod over the original pod using velcro fasteners in six places. It ahs been over 100 degrees here for sevearl days. I just left the office a little while ago, and when I got in the Ram, I noticed the top edge of the poid was hanging down about 3/4 inch.

Note to self - velcro does not stick well in extremely hot temperatures! So as much as I was hesitant about installing screws int eh crap-plastic that the A Pillar cover is made from, I see little other options left. Hope it does not crack out on me. If anyone has any better suggestions, they are certainly welcome!

After making a 400 mile trip for work this week, decided to get back to an issue I noticed a couple weeks ago.

I discovered this. I wip[ed out waht I could and stuck a hose in to float out waht was there.

When I opened radiator yesterday, it looked worse. Radiator was changed out and system flushed several months ago (November I think.

So I ran Prestone flush through it two times yesterday, and one time today. Clean water between each prestone flush. Draining block each time as well.

When I drained the plain water from it this morning, it looked really clean. Still ran another bottle of prestone through it this morning anyway just to be sure.

As I am thinking back, I may not have run cealn water through it after flush last fall. I might have drained flush and refilled with coolant and water.......which my explain the gunk in the system. I hope that is all that it is....

And as I have been going through this process, and read a number of threads yesterday and last nigh about "engine ticking" i became aware of a barely detectable ticking sound! Holy cra*! It only shows up at around 190 degrees.

I had suspected rockers and I install HS rockers several weeks ago. So off come the valve covers and out comes the torque wrench. Rockers have about 600 miles on them now. All checked good. Cranked up, and now need to wash oil off engine......

Then I started poking around the entire engine with a stethascope and I discovered that the ticking is coming form the injectors. Should I be able to hear the injectors? I haven't noticed this before, and cannot hear it when the efans are running. Are injectors on their wayt to failure?

I guess I was sensitised to this by posting s yesterday. I nevere heard it before, ut had not listened for it either.

I just looked at parts on workbench (doing some work on a 64 Chevy truck for a few $) and I noticed something strange........

This is my 180 stat. I removed it when i started to flush cooling system to allow flush and water to fill and flow better while cleaning it out. It is pretty warm in the garage, but nowhere near 180 degrees though. It is a Stant thermostat.....off to AZ to see if it is lifetime warranty.....
