I just talked to John Mercedes (well, e-mail abck and forth) and he said that it is not necessary. I did notice some of the additives mentioned not to use with cats. I picked up a Lucas Zinc additive to use to soak the rockers in, but will use my regular oil. John even said soaking was not necessary, but I think I will do it just to make sure they do not start out dry.

I think I will soak in oil with this Lucas additive:

And here is the fude block I added. The two wires at the bottom are for the e-fans and the wires at the top are for electric trailer brakes and KO power for Glow Shift gauges. This eliminates the in line fuses from gathering and multiplying like rabbits around the PDC. (forgive the movement in the photo - pain meds....make me shake like a dog and a peach seed...)

The threads over the weekend caused me to check the bolts on valve covers...a number of them were loose. I have some oil on the underside, but not enought to drip. It will get new gaskets when I put the rockers in, and I boght pan gaskets months ago. After new valve cover gaskets and washing the underside of engine I will deterine whether or not I need to drop the pan after a couple thousand miles.

Fuse box - Autozone - Bussman BP-15600-16-2, ATC 30A, 6ct. It was $10.49. Higher than I could have gotten - but I wanted it now....

And HS Rockers - http://southeastrt.com/

The VC bolts coming loose are common. I'm sure just tightening them down will cure that.

Oh, and I used this when installing the rockers.
