Wheeling a fullsize
Thanks Nuckle, I was referring to our trucks. I was looking at pictures the other night on the internet of the Rub and they only showed jeeps. Some of the jeeps looked highly modified and some looked stock. I figure that our trucks could keep up with stock jeeps, but those stock jeeps, from what your saying probably don't do the whole trail. The chili challenge down here has extreme trails that you wouldn't even attempt to take our trucks on. So I'm guessing that the Rubicon is in the realm of extreme. Thanks for the info and I'll be looking for your video, I'm sure it will be interesting, good luck!
The Rubicon has several sections and bypasses. Shorter/narrower do better when it's just larger rocks. Meaning they can fit between. However, stock jeeps on many places require stacking. It can be very misleading. Additionally, b/c the trail sees so much use, it changes often. Sometimes due to typical trail use where you have stock anything (stacking bonanza) and Ultra4 rock killing and displacement action.
Some particular bypasses are extreme difficulty, such as Old Sluice.
Here is the thread to see actual pics on the rubicon of all kinds of vehicles.

Here is pretty cool video compilation of some Toyota Tacomas

Here is my video playlists page where you'll find 2 playlists of the Rubicon. One where I drive my truck (smaller then) and when I didn't.

All of these should give you better feel.
There are a few large events that occur on the Rubicon where literally it's hundreds of rigs going through. These events impact the trail significantly as there are rock stacking crews and support crews. Effectively it's a way for mall crawlers to make it.... <-- that's a rant.

Thanks Nuckle, that was cool and informative. I have to look at more of your videos when I have time to sit for awhile. What do you figure your effective lift is now, you look to be a little higher than me

Your welcome. As for my lift, that's a good question. I do have a 3" body lift and the front springs (suspension lift) are assumed to be 5". I have no confirmation on that though and nothing to compare to. Maybe some of you can help tell me.
So I put a tape measure on the buckets as that is something that can be compared directly with anyone. I also put on the wheel wells.
Passenger Side

Driver side, but got crooked holding things

How I held at the tab

Passenger Rear wheel well

Passenger Front wheel well, looks like I got that crooked too...grrr

I have lost the notes. But I recall my stock 1500 suspension. Being around 40ish inches up front. And 42ish in the back. Measuring from level ground to middle of wheel wheels.
Pretty sure my springs were sagging a litttle though. I know the leafs in the back where for sure.

I didn't realize that you had a 3" body lift, I do not have a body lift. I figure I have an effective 7" suspension lift, 5" BDS lift and part due to the extra I gained in the back from the axle swap and the 2" spring spacers up front to level it out. I will measure mine this weekend or in the morning when I get off work and take some pictures to compare. The spring measurement and wheel wells should tell us something, our tires are the same size.
Carl your rig is coming along nice. Good work. Why are you still on 1/2 tons? Ha.
I am building a 35spl 9" and hp44 to go under my jeep. I will eventually have some time off work and one day when it's done I will hit you up to go run the rubicon and have a beer or 2.

I measured my truck and I have 18" on the front springs and 47" on all four fender Wells. I suppose if I swapped out the cable on the winch then I might gain another inch in the front. I would say your lift is an effective 9-10" lift
