Ok, TP...you've now removed that snow bank blemish from earlier in the year.
Thanks for elaborating on the events of the weekend. You guys captured it with it gusto!! Sometimes the weight/length of our whales is a very good thing. Glad there wasn't any major carnage or other.
Lastly, your buddy with the video and such rocked it damn good. A great standard to step up, which I'll try.... lol
Well done!

WK can confirm but I don't think you can even get on the Ruby until about June depending on how much snow they have had. If you can't make it til next year that is cool just gives me a reason to come down and run the Ruby again. In Sept I'm going to be solo but if we wait til the middle-end of June my daughter is out school and I'll bring the whole family.
Activity really picks up in June and last 2 weeks of July is pretty much not accessible due to large hosted events that close the trail. During the week is the best.

Well, a week ago I moved the axles out to a buddy's house. He has to regear both his axles and so we're making it a couple pairs.
He's collected all the tools for it (e.g., dial indicator, bar style torque wrench, and bearing puller). I brought a press over and yada yada. Went through about 6 gear pattern checks tonight. Geeez so tedious, but we are very close.
Here is the first pattern check, it's a little deep and so just experimented to get a feel for the changes:
Then I ran into a downer....
I just didn't get out the tape measure and do some other checking. Take a look.
However, it's not a show stopper for long...just gonna add some more time. So this cheered me up.

At last check, the wms on a Dodge 60 is 70". Ford axles (92-97 bj) are 69.25". Big whoopty right.
The Ford diff is more offset to the driver side. My concern (still figuring out) is clearance b/t frame and pumpkin, but also front driveshaft to Y-pipe exhaust.
However, I'm fairly certain I'm good to go....as it's been some time since I looked close at this stuff and reminded myself of a few built Dodges with this same vintage axle. None of them "reported" nor showed that there were any issues. 2 of them actually took their former D44 buckets and put them onto the Ford axle.
So, I got a bit uneasy and will do another comparison today or tomorrow, but putting the axle up on jackstands and such.
Finished our first regear with ARB (already had) on my buddies LJ. We are pretty excited about it.

His chart to keep track of the changes. It will get improved.
