I dunno, I think it's all how it's took care of and how it's drove. Aren't there a few others in the 2nd Gen crowd that say they get 20mpg or close to it?

Ive seen guys claiming 20mpg but have nothing to prove or back that up.. I really think that on a well maintained motor and real careful driving you might be able to pull off 16 or 17 mpg at best.. The best ive managed was 14.3.. I guess we just need to know the 'mods' he has done..

If I drove pure freeway, unloaded, with just me, (and the dog, can't go anywhere without her...) I might be able to eek out 19..... with my truck, that's pretty damn good. (as these things go...) In a lighter, half-ton truck, I could almost see it, if it's two wheel drive, should be doable without too much effort.

I am REALLY curious what mileage mods he has. Anything that would decrease my trucks appetite for fuel would put a smile on my face. (aside from: Not driving it.)

I didn't update Fuelly on the trip to Va from Ga since we only stopped once to fill up the truck and it still had 5/8 of a tank (stopped when I put gas in the U Haul), but I'd say we hit either the high 16's or low 17's mpgs...

I'd bet I'd get even more if I went back to stock 16" wheels and stock sized tires....

My 3 best mpg's, 15.1, 15.2, and 15.5. And two of those came on back to back fillups driving 140+ miles a day for work....NO interstate Not bad... Plus a miss-aligned front end... Might pickup a little when I get that fixed....
