Default Clutches

Ok im posting here because the hyundai forums wont respond...and i dont have enough data to browse around cuz ive used it all on this forum and data doesnt reload for another week...

I just want some options for clutches cuz my car needs one....hows the quality for exedy, f1, luk, centerforce clutches....i dont want an autozone no name clutch i want a good one...so if anyone can share any insight to a good clutch please do...ill take as many suggestions as you can give...

I ask because exedy for example my buddy put in his maxima he had clutch rattle....so i would like to know what to expect from clutches...

Out of the the 5 manual trans vehicles ive had ive never blown a clutch so this is new to me.....and if you think napa or somewhere has a good clutch please let me know...

Thanks

Centerforce is pretty well know for making quality pieces. Not to mention they are a nascar sponsor.... (not sure how much of an endorsement that is though....)

I put a Centerforce Dual Friction in the 240sx I had. Gave it proper break in and it still started slipping in about 3 months time. Their other clutches might be good but I personaly will stay away from them all together.

Exedy is supposed to be good. Ive never used one of their clutches though. Your buddy probably has the chatter because he put too heavy of a clutch in. Like a stage 2 or 3, that are meant for racing, not driving. Unless the car is built and needs a heavier clutch, its wasted money and could cause other problems.

ACT is another good clutch. I havent heard any bad about them. I havent used one of these either, so I cant speak from personal expirience.

I put an off brand OEM clutch in my past Integra and had zero problems with it.

Honestly man I'd go for the cheapest one with a lifetime warranty. I've used the ones from autozone and advanced with No problems. Autozone clutch is in my trans am right now.

Just be easy with it for about 1000 miles if you do alot of highway driving.

+1. Sometimes when They're new you'll get a little chatter but that should go away pretty quickly. Depending on how that car is set up you may want to replace the rear main seal also.
