Got with my fellow Dodge buddy and we are both in need of dash mats. I picked up a nice black one for my 99 diesel off eBay, he needs one for his 95 diesel 2500 and I need one for the 97 2500 gasser (years). Confirmed both dash layouts are the same (unless I'm missing something). Saw BBartow's 95 1500 on this thread, which made me think to confirm on the dash between the two 2500's. K.

 

The layout changed in '98 so you're fine. I got my dash mat for $55 from http://dashdesigns.com/dash-covers.

Jigabop, I had more innocent aspirations (like a 12v conversion). V10's are perfect candidates. P-pumped 24v, interesting...
