We're Screwed.
It's a beautiful day with not a cloud in the sky here on the Western Slope of the Colorado Rockies, where cannabis will become legal (state level legal anyway) as soon as the governor certifies the election results. My truck is running fine, as always, good and strong and comfortable, too.
If this is the end of the world, I'm all for it. And so's my cat.

yeah, the world ain't gonna crash... not yet... it may be a good time to start living conservatively, though.. there is going to be some bad weather ahead..
funny thing is- no matter the political affiliation or opinion of posters on this forum, I'll openly wager that the vast majority already lives conservatively.. we're self sufficient, honorable, and stand for something so we don't fall for just anything.. that is the definition of an American by my reckoning..
the other thing to realize- is that politics and political outcomes are NOT linear- meaning they don't run parallel, they run in circles- meaning if you move left OR right, they will collide ultimately..
for every liberal position I hate, there is a counter conservative position I equally hate- though the two may share no other relation.. voting or electing a person is generally based on the voters 'pet' policy- and they forsake all other items of importance to gain that one edge.. it's the condition we've allowed to exist... speaking of which:
our forefathers never considered the possibility of a 'career politician'.. people were nominated by character, and it was a position of honor to be taken gravely- the 'democracy' of the US has NEVER existed.. we live in a governmentation by representation, and always have.. those elected believe themselves above the citizens that elected them, and are interested in their own gain before all else.. every one of them, unless proven otherwise.. there is no honor remaining in politics or politicians- no matter the party.. without honor, we're declining into one or two things: anarchy free for all, or police state..
I really, truly, don't see a way around this.. there is far too much divide in this country, and there are too many scavengers around to allow peace.. this worries me.. especially with a little one on the way..

I will be out in the desert, clinging to my God and guns. So, this new welfare society that Obama has fostered can do whatever they want. But when Atlas shrugs, it will all come crashing down, and I will still be living self-sufficiently in the desert. And things are about to get very bad economically. The "coal bomb" created by Obama will hit late in 2013 and 2014, causing electric rates to go 4-5x higher. The oil drilling ban he put in place will start to decrease supplies as current wells go dry and there's no new domestic sources to fill in. Gas and oil prices are going to more than double what they are now-according to the Petroleum Institute, by early 2015. So, please no whining about how bad things are from supporters of this socialist rat. You're going to get exactly what you deserve. Too bad we all will have to pay the price.

this is accurate...
Totally agree with you and either way it goes, Obama has his response all set up. Executive Order 13603 http://www.gpo.gov/fdsys/pkg/FR-2012.../2012-7019.pdf
these things are real and present, even detailed in disseminated instructions on how to proceed at low levels- the curious part is the mystery surrounding 'what would rate such measure being implemented, and when?'... THAT part, is absolutely absent in anything I've ever read.. it simply states "under authority".. What authority? dunno..
another curious thing happening simultaneously, are the executive orders being vetted, in which (in short) allow the Pres to declare national emergency even when the national emergency is undefined.. what sense does that make? Think about it.. What sense? It specifically states "real or perceived'.. why?
Oh great! It's divisive to talk about the results of a politicians policies. This is priceless liberalism on display with that one sentence. We can't talk about reality of policy, just bask in the glow of the intent. Good God our country is lost!
absolutely..
there is a divide for a reason.. I didn't suggest the divide was wrong at any point...
what I was declaring accurate was the coal bomb and the petroleum institute, but I also agree that the divide is vast enough to push those on the outside fringes off the grid, and into (likely overly reactive) extreme response.. notice, I ain't saying that's a good thing..
