push it off a cliff. that is the only way you will get decent mileage in a full size gas truck.

^Yeah, I'm with wolfie. I get 13.5 mpg if I granny it down the highway at about 65 mph. Never been able to actaully see 14 with mine, but I also have 285 tires. So I guess that kinda disqualifies me.

Unreg has hit 16 grannying it, but has smaller tires on his 4x4.

I've gotten near 16 with 265/70/17s, and by near I mean 15.2, 15.5, etc...

99DodgeRamIt, please read the posting rules sticky and also use the search function. This question has been asked and answered many, many times and if you do a little research you will find the answer. and that answer, which has been stated here, is, you can't get much better mileage out of these trucks. If you have a technical question, please feel free to start your own thread and not clutter up someone elses thread with your own question. Thanks.

hi guys, my transmission broke during test drive. i managed drive back with the truck in second gear and almost stop on slop. droped the oil pan no burns or broken parts, i took off the valve body dissaseemble it found the gorvenor pressure piston spring broke in 3 pieces, lucky i found a new valve body cheap in ebay, what cause the spring broke? i knew is not temperature, because it broke just after my truck exited highway drive and happened in couple blocks of local drive. i have change the pressure solenoid to a borg wagner upgrade one because of the late shift, it works. i also put 2 lucas tranny fluid in .the first band has lot of freeplays ,but not burn. what you suggest,?put back the borg wagner solenoid or just put back the oem valve body and do nothing.
