stewie - is there a heater treater type product that replaces the blend door by cutting into the plenum? i put one of those into a jeep cherokee and then put a dorman knockoff blend door into the wifey's explorer. the explorer door was only about $50 or less and not that hard. with the broken door it had the auto-heat function which really sucked.

I have the 180 stat (with SCT tune), but engine wants to hover around 150. I need to select different program mode for e-fans. It still gets warm, but not toasty warm. Since I only have to drive to the office 3 days a week and I drive whichever truck has gas, I don't think about it - until I am drivingt to the office!

Thermostat
I installed a "checked out in the kitchen" 180* thermostat in my truck when I did the plenum and other things. It heats up the truck very nicely and will run 186 at highway speeds and around 190-200 in town or at a idle, this is with temps outside about 20-30 degrees. Only takes about 2-3 miles to get up to temperature. My primary electric fan comes on about 200 degrees.
150 sounds pretty cool to me, do you have a auxilary temp. guage or going by the OEM?

[QUOTE=dhvaughan;2938945]i was waiting to do mine - thinking that removing the old dash in lots of little bitty pieces would be easier than removing a few large pieces.
In less something has changed, you can't remove the dash in "little bitty pieces" The under structure of the dash still won't let the heater box come out. I've done a ton of these in a shop I used to work at. To the point where I could get them done 2 hours below book time. It's not a hard job, but it is time consuming. Get 2 different manuals and study them both. Every one seems to leave out bits of info, or say a different way to do it.
