What part of NorCal do you live in? I might know of a spot.

Just read through this whole thread... very helpful.
Sorry Merc225hp, I sent that pm before I found this thread. Looks like I'll be going with the M1 come spring, get rid of that gasket and hopefully that random missfire.
Luckily I know a guy at the dealers parts counter... cross my fingers I can either get the parts free or cheap.

Thanks to everyone that posted their input on the intakes. I live in one of the few provinces that requires an e-test (and pretty much only my part of the province at that). If yall passed, I know I'll pass for sure, we don't have a visual. Our only visual is during a safety... and that won't cause a fail.

Everybody needs a best friend that comes with those qualities.lol

I've checked everything minus the plenum for my missfire. I figure it's gone bad and that would be the cause of missfires. the M1 should cure that problem, right?

Comp test will come in the spring... too damn cold. New wires, rotor, cap, plugs and everything. The wires have been routed as per the TSB. And as for plugs, Champion coppers.

OK good for the new parts and for following the tsb. Do the comp test as soon as you can odds are good you have a cracked head. You using/losing any anti freeze?

I was, but that was only cause the stock rad rotted. I hate to admit it but, I soldered the leaky tube until spring. I have no garage anymore and working in the cold is not my favorite thing.
I'm not burning any coolant nor loosing any. As well, there is no lack of power.
I've managed to narrow it to either the plenum, or could be two faulty injectors (missfire in 4 and 6... once in a blue moon) I'm leaning more towards those, hence the terrible gas millage.
Once I get the M1, new fuel rails and injectors is probably a good investment.
A comp test is a really good idea and it is suppose to get to a single digit minus next week, I'll probably have to do it then.

I don't find these trucks with bad injectors to often causing the miss, but you never know. 4&6 possible small head gasket leak as they are right beside each other. You can get rebuild kits for them just do a web search and you will fine them. I guess I should not tell you it was +6c here today and melting eh lol.
