Thanks bud.

You did a very good job yourself, lot's of good research helped you, you opened the fsm and read it when needed, you called and spoke to retailers. Give yourself a pat on the back for a job well done, not one tabernac was said lol.

I wish I had the time and know how to put the cam I want in my motor. I was going to go with a 360 short block but cant because my MP computer would not work with the 360. So I am going to just buy a 318 short block and they will install the cam I want if it. When I put the dizzy in I will need to set the fuel right?

See if you can trade your pcm for this MP pcm **P5249546 with someone. Then do the swap to 5.9. do a search for one I found it for $265 new online.

i actually brought my laptop out with me yesterday so i could read the fsm while putting the motor together so i could make sure all the torque values were correct, and done in the correct sequence.

my buddy kept asking me if i was sure i was doing it right, and hes the guy that comes to me when he needs work done haha.

just cant wait to get it in. however, i think im having transmission issue. having shifting issue from 2-3 hangs up in second sometimes, and i have to let off the throttle to get it to shift. all the trans electronics are brand new as of july, and the fluid looks brand new still. doesnt smell burnt either.

STOP STOP STOP. PUT THE HAMMER AWAY !!!!!

loosen ALL main bearing journals...
rotate engine with crank down.
give it a little push.
pull it through with finger pressure.

the old seal must come out EASILY or you cannot get the new one in.
BE SURE AND TURN THE NEW ONE THE RIGHT WAY. NOTE LIP.

well had a little scare tonight... while out plowing, my son kicked the wires that went to my stobe light bar, and made the +, and - wire connect with each other. this resulted in the + wire completely melting and filling the engine bay, and cab with smoke, because stupid me hadnt put an inline fuse in yet.

it also melted my oil psi line for my mech gauge. im very very thankful that i was parked showing our friends our new puppy.

im extremely nervous now, and i dont know if ill sleep tonight cause im worried that something will catch fire while im sleeping, even though i disconnected everything from the battery.
