Default Towing, Tire ,gears

OK I’m in the process of the final clicks and it hit me, I better get a second opinion. I have 33 on my truck at this min. I want 40 but, I’m thinking that will be too much if I plan to tow. So what would be a good compromise for the tires that will allow me to tow a boat and gears that would complement this upgrade?

Depends how much and how often you plan on towing. What gears currently? Plenum fixed? Makes things alot on the truck

dana 60/70 axle swap, and 5.13 gears. those 40's will grenade the dana 44 in short order.

ok boats about 2500 pounds, and the plenum is fixed, I just droped about 800 in the last week on motor upgrades and major fixies that were way over due.

OK if I go to 35. will that save my axels, so I dont have to do a converstion. Thats a monkey I dont want to go after my myself. even though I have the cash to do it.

If you have 3.55 gears, no. That will not save them with 35's. Tranny would not like it either.

errr Now im lost. If I stay with the 33, even that it pains me. What would be a gear to get that will be the best chance of survival for my transmission and axels. POOr PoOr dodge of mine.

33's seem to do best with 4.10 gears (factory if you have the offroad package) if you're planning on alot of plowing/hauling...35's do best with 4.56s...

This.

And about 5 inches of lift to clear the tires. DO NOT USE REAR BLOCKS to lift the back end. AAL, new springs, shackle flip, anything but more blocks.
