^Yeah what he said! And make sure you keep your windows rolled up and idle the truck for as long as possible...maybe cut a hole in the floorboard for more effect?

I can't find the o2 sensor downstream of the cat, does anybody know where it would be located or if some vehicles didn't come with one?

It should have one, the only ones that didn't were 94-95.

Between my cat and muffler is just I solid smooth pipe and all the ones I've seen show the o2 sensor in the side of the pipe behind the cat.

See if you can find the harness for the rear O2, wonder if someone put an O2 simulator on it.... not getting any codes are you?

Yeah, do this. I have a gutted cat and sure it's louder, but sound quality took a hit. Use the money from selling your cat to get a long-ish perforated core glasspack (not louvered) and it'll sound awesome.

Well, here's the deal, If you gut the cat, the whole smog system will cease to work correctly. If you live in an area that doesn't require smog checks, then just delete the cat with a pipe that bolts in like the cat does and save the cat for when the POPO pulls you over for a loud vehicle and gives you a fixit ticket for it.

There are no smog tests where I live. I don't have the money for a new high flow cat. I would prefer just to remove the cat but if I gut it and leave it on then I'll still be able to pass inspection anywhere. I just hope the non fouler trick works for the CEL light.

Get a magnaflow high flow cat. I have that and the same muffler on my truck and I love the sound! Only diff is mine comes out in a single sidepipe

edit: just seen your last post. Remove the cat entirely, gutted cats just sound plain awful imo
