I Know. ran out of budget cause I had to put a new light socket on for the trailer and it weren't raining so I just waited on that.

lol

Looks like it pulls nice though. What gears and what RPM were you running with the load of hay?

Pulls awesome, especially compared to the old 360, it feels awesome to not have the engine straining a bit. Had no problem making 70 in 5th, but we towed in 4th gear pretty much the whole time, never had to downshift even on the steep hills, just floor it and wait for 4 barrells to kick in

To be quite honest, I only had oil pressure gauge, still working on getting all my gauges working.

But because it is a manual tranny and I know my axle ratio, here's the RPM from the worksheet merc225hp gave me (thanks again merc): 55 MPH: 2074 70MPH: 2639

Not too bad.

Oil pump works very well, runs about 30PSI at 55MPH.

I was running 15* base timing +15* max vacuum advance, no knocking on 87 octane, but switched to 91 anyways to avoid any problems. 12.5MPG highway with unloaded trailer running in 4th gear, not bad at all on fuel economy.

The dual plane intake REALLY boosts low end torque, and it feels AWESOME! I can spin my tires in 3rd gear no problem. I took it into the pasture, put it in 3rd from standstill, let the clutch out and floored it, didn't move anywhere but the tires were sure spinning damn fast

2600 seems a tad high. Is 4th gear 1:1 on the NV4500? I forget.

4 barrel carbs are awesome. Does it make the lovely roar when you floor it? My 76 does.

I wish I could get my vacuum advance working.

4th is 1:1 yes. I misentered some specs on the worksheet, revised figures:

55MPH in 4th: 2197 RPM
70MPH in 4th: 2796 RPM

70MPH in 5th: 2041RPM

That is with 3.55 axle ratio and 265/75/16 tires.

I can't tell if the roar is due to the carb or the muffler, I have vacuum secondaries. But whatever it is it sounds awesome. DOT guy passed us on the interstate (we were doing 70 when he passed), he was doing faster, limit is 70, and he goes by and waves at us. He probably thought that that one hell of a noisy motor was supremely beefed up lol...

That seems better for 5th. lol

It's likely both. My 76 has a fairly quiet exhaust, can't even hear the exhaust in the cab. All engine noise, so I know when the secondaries open up as it belts out this musclecar roar.

What muffler do you have?

30 psi @ 55mph or 1700-2000 rpm is **** poor for oil psi what's it at when idling? I thought this was a new motor? Yes it's within spec but not the numbers I would want to see for a new/rebuilt motor. What's the total total timing at?

I have true duals 2.5" pipes with two Dynomax VTs under it. No cat and HD cast manifolds (hi-flow version Dodge made).

This motor has 100K on it. It gets 20PSI at idle, when warm, it might be more like 40 when driving. Idling cold is 40-60PSI, I am running Shell Rotella T 15w40 in it so that's why number seem interesting.

I do have a mechanical oil pressure gauge so I know those numbers to be accurate.

Total timing should be 30-35* when mechanical and vacuum advance are at their peak.

Hmm, shouldn't be that loud. My 76 has 2.5 duals with dual turbo mufflers. maybe that's why it's quieter.
