Talking Power seats 98 1500

Hi I have picked up a set of 40-20-40 front seat off of craigs list for my 98 ram and the seats came out of a 98. To my surprize they are power seats so here is my question. Where can I find a wiring harness or the part that plugs into the motors the driver has 3 motors and passenger has 2. I found a harness on ebay for 75 bucks and that is close to what i payed for the seats. looking for a cheaper option you know how it is when you don't have alot of cash to spend.

How about the truck you got the seats from?

I don't think there are all that many wires. Grab the 01 service manual, see what wires you need, and maybe make your own harness?

Either that, or check your local junkyards.

The controls are on the seat, and the seat frame is a local ground, so it is likely to only need a power supply... this could be an unused connector under the carpet somewhere.

If I remember, I'll look at mine tomorrow and let you know where the seat plugs in.

I was told the seats came out from a 98. The plastic covers are without the switch opening I have the knowledge to make up my own harness but I don't have the proper connectors That plug into the motor. Will a harness from a 95 work?

Thanks

Al

If your seats don't have a switch opening then they aren't power seats. Unless I'm confuzzled.

The switches are in the seat side, and there is a flap below seat line to cover the seat frame.

There are only two wires going to a connector on the floor under the seat (where the floor pan steps up)... power and ground (?)

The motors are there on the Seat I got but there is no wiring or harness and the trim pieces I got did not have the switch assembly
