It does doesn't it. Itty bitty u-joints in the 44 knuckle compared to the 60's. Makes you wonder why they even messed with the 44.
Weight. Which translates to fuel consumption. Not that I think it made a whole lotta difference.... I get the same or better mileage with my truck, than some of the half-ton guys.
Best guess on my end is I added 400lbs to unsprung weight when I upgraded to the 60's and another 30lbs for the 241 over the 231. Can I tell the extra weight is there you bet, at first I had some bad mpg after the install but now that most of the bugs have been worked out it's about the same as before. I am not going to get upset if it goes down by one or three points, I will save that in replacment parts by going to the 60's.
