Dana 60 Swap!
Finally got that blasted hub off today. So extremely rusted. I got the new T-style 8.5+ steering on, and boy that setup is HEAVY. Then used that and the little impact extension thing made specifically for popping off wheel assemblies on these dodges. I think its actually for an air hammer but you can just use it as a wedge.

Can you please post the part numbers for the new steering parts you have. They don't look like the 98-99HD parts to me but I might be wrong. Where the drag link joins the pass side tre is that a bolt or a tapered fit? This looks like it might work better for what I have in plan, mainly the cross over part of it.
It is not the 98-99HD steering. It is the t-style steering from 8.5 and up 2500. It comes pre assembled from mother mopar for about 300ish dollars.
Part number 52122362AH
see this thread
It doesnt fit pre 2000 axles because the older axles are a couple inches shorter
Where the drag link comes over it is a bolt. The two front wheels are always connected by the two tie rods. As opposed to the Y steering where the wheels are only connected if the drag link is connected.

Yea its right in your post sorry about that, but thanks for the pix and the part number. I think I can just change out the drivers side tre to a shorter one, i'll have to look into that.

Yea no problem.
I'm sure it could be modded or something fabbed up to make it work for the shorter axles
If you can just change out the driver side tre that would be sweet. This setup looks great and it comes assemblies and ready to go.
Jig has this setup and he supposedly loves it. It would be nice if he would give us an update. Been about a year since he installed it me thinks.

that hub is not bad at all lol very little rust compared to the ones I have done, the best way to do it is with a large chisel hit between the flange and the hub then use it as a wedge to get it out
Press the u-joint all the way to one side and remove the cap with vise grips or channel lock pliers, then press the joint back all the way to the other side and remove the cap in the same manner. If the rubber seals stay on the joint remove them, then the joint will just come out of the yoke.
