Default need shocks???

what i have now are spring helpers in the front, they are metal screws with little brackets pushing the spring apart...giving a little lift i guess and i dont feel safe with it, so i just installed a 2 inch spacer and 2 inch lift springs....do i need shocks or can i just scimp by?

There's a DIY somewhere here to extend the threaded rod on the top of the front shocks. I'm not sure where it's at though. Might want to look around a bit. Basically it uses a coupling nut and threaded rod to extend it.

IIRC, the stock shocks, unmodified, are usually good for 3".

That would make me nervous too, as the shaft on the shock is hardened steel.....

That gives you a total of four inches of lift... What you really need to do it right....

Longer control arms.
Adjustable track bar.
Longer shocks.

Going over three inches does odd things to your steering geometry if you don't compensate for it with the rest of the parts.

I wouldn't recommend it. Lose the spacers for now, until you can afford the rest of the stuff. Otherwise, you are going to be unsafe. (and it will prolly drive funny too....)
