I went out and took off the water outlet tube and I can feel there is nothing under where the sensor should be. I'm going to drill and tap the boss for the sensor.

I do believe those are NPT threads. So, keep that in mind.

I put my cam in and I put the tensioner on but I think I found another problem. There is some play between the cam key and the cam sprocket. My cam didn't come with a key installed so I took the one off the stock cam. There is no play between the key and the cam but it goes in with just my finger pressure and I thought it should be a little more of an interference fit. Should I get a new cam key or is this normal, and would I be able to get one at the an auto store in town?

Putting it in with your fingers is fine. They aren't supposed to be real tight.

Ok. Is it normal that there is some play between the sprocket and key? I can turn the sprocket a fraction of a degree before the cam starts to turn.

I would not use that key, its to short and there should be NO play in the fit at all.

I second what Merc said. My sprocket to cam has ZERO movement in it. Any good auto parts store should have it in stock. They are just normal half moon keys.

I looked all over town and couldn't find any. I also noticed that the crank sprocket is a tad loose too. I think I'm going to just make some. I might even try welding some more material onto the stock ones and grinding it to the right size.

The crank sprocket key is fine. I didn't have the gear pushed on far enough. I also compared the new cam sprocket and stock sprocket and they have the same amount of play. So I know the gear is fine. It doesn't look like the key or gear is worn. They must come from the factory loose?

I don't believe they are suppose to be loose from factory, if I remember right mine weren't loose at all.
