Started tearing it apart.

 

Looking darn good. I'll bet you will have your swap done before mine is done and I have a head start on you too.

 

So far for Snow, 10 months and 1 week. Every picture tells a story. The trucks down time just began. I watch each with interest. First fire looming! Great threads guys. K.

Edit 2: In gas turbines, First Fire meant Full Speed No Load testing. I have to remember this is Snows build thread. So terms should be first start.

I also watch this with keen interest. I have a 318 to swap into my v6 Dakota. Even though this is a 360 it provides some useful information, at least good ideas.

 

Did some more today. First thing I did was take off the fan. I couldn't keep the water pump from turning with a screwdriver so I drilled a couple holes in a strip of steel and bolted it to the pulley. The pitman arm then held it from turning so I could put all my effort in to just the fan nut. I'm going to cut the a/c compressor mount off of the accessory bracket since I don't have a/c anymore.

 

Not much to see but I did a lot of little things. Close to pulling it.

 

Are the two remaining bolts going to be enough to hold that in place?

 

There's another bolt behind the idler pulley and there is that bracket on top that connects it to the intake.

 

That should be more than adequate to the task.
