I've been looking everyday online but yesterday another truck that got my attention came up.

5.9L V8 with 194,000 km & automatic transmission. Everything works as it should. TONS on new parts in last 2 months:

• COMPLETE new front end (Upper & lower ball joints, wheel bearings, trac bar, inner & outer tie rod ends, u-joints & more)
• 4" Lift
• 33x12.5-17 Mickey Thompson MTZs (with 5th tire for spare) on 17x8 OffRoad Edition Rims
• Front & Rear Axles from OffRoad Edition Ram with 4.10 Gears
• 1999+ Sport Front Bumper, Grill, Headlights & Rear Bumper
• New custom Stainless Steel True Dual Exhaust with Polished Cats, Dynomax Bullet mufflers, and dual rear tailpipes
• Pacesetter Long Tube Headers
• AEM Cold Air Intake
• Accel Performance Ignition & Oversized Plug Wires
• New Front Fenders
• 2001 complete interior in excellent shape

$4800 obo
So what year is the actual truck? I's personally be scared to death of a hack job truck that has different body parts from different year trucks. Are all those things direct fit replacement or, s with the interior, require any rewiring?

Think I would have a look at it in person, verify everything works right, and the work done was good quality. If everything checks out, go for it. (offer 4500..... )

I've talked to the guy on the phone and he says its in great shape mechanically and cosmetically. It comes certified. Brand new front end parts, recently replaced brakes, sensors, etc. Okay so here's the story.. It's a 1998 ram 1500 4x4 with 190,000km. He decided to put the sport assesories from a 1999 on it. Then he blew his rear end, found a 2001 off road edition parts truck and stole the axles out of it (4.10s and traclok) At the same time he swapped the interior as it was in better shape. Interior is simple (no power and crank windows) Sounds like something a lot of us here would do. He says he is firm at 4500. Was asking 4800. For what is has in it, I personally believe it is well worth the asking price. Trying to plan out a day to go look at it. He's about 3 hours away

Take the money with you. If he is down to 4500, offer 4000, show him CASH. If he seems hesitant, add another 100. (just don't let him know how many of them you actually have. Pull money out of various pockets. )

I wouldn't buy it simply because of what I've learned from my time on here. I bought my truck for $4500 and I thought I got a great deal. At the time 197K on body, rebuilt motor & new tranny, 36s with 4.88s and a 7.5" lift. With what I've learned I wish I would've waited for a 2000-02 2500 360 Sport. It sucks since I see them often now in great shape for decent prices. Not saying I don't like my truck since I love it, but if you can wait I would hold off for a near perfect deal. You'd still be putting a lot of money into that truck regardless of condition.

He wants a 2500 because his puny little axles might snap off any moment with those giant tires

Fair enough. This truck comes with the offroad axles, but they are still plain Dana 44/9.25 with no additional strength other than trussed correct?
