Default Who has owned their Secondgen the longest?

As was brought up in another thread, it seems secondgen owners are going the way of the dinosaur via involvement on this forum. Although I see many of these trucks on the road.

WHO HAS OWNED THEIR TRUCK THE LONGEST?

I bought my first secondgen in 2004: 1996 SLT Laramie regular cab (No back seat. Club cab is the extended cab with suicide doors). Then joined the forum to find out about aftermarket parts. Then I bought another in 2008. My current 2001, Club Cab, 5.9 OFF ROAD. How lucky I felt to get a lifted extended cab with a 5.9 and 4.10 gears!

So, technically I have owned ONE truck for 7 years. But 11 total for secondgens.

Anyone here the first owner of a 1994?

I definitely haven't owned them the longest. I've had 2nd Gen Rams since March 2013, I've had 2 of them in that time. Had the first for 1 year, the 2nd since March 2014. 2nd one is a keeper I think.

In my town, I see A LOT of 2nd gen trucks.

Bought mine in..... April of 2010... shortly before I joined this forum. Actually, I did that in the wrong order.... I should have did my research FIRST.... Had I done so, I would have paid a LOT less for my truck.

Got my first second gen in early 2000. My 96 Indy(#2) is the newbe and i will have it a year in July. I think the national time frame for everyday vehicle ownership is 3-5 years. I surpassed it 2X.

The "Club Cab" was introduced in 1995 and did NOT have suicide doors. The front seats folded forward like a coupe and you climbed in the back from the front door. "Quad Cab" was introduced in 1998 and contained suicide doors to accommodate easy entry to the back. This was to usurp Chevy's 3rd door models which only opened on the passenger side.

I bought my girl on June 4, 2001 at Feeny Dodge in Palatine, IL. Just passed 14 years of bliss! So I'm in 2nd place currently....

So you've had yours just a month longer than I've had mine? Wow.

Don't feel too bad about it. I did my homework and spent months finding a truck that met all of my important criteria, then just shy of five months later the damned OD snap ring came untogether. Sometimes you're the windshield, sometimes the bear eats you. Or something like that.

I just realized that I think ArmyNurse is the original owner of his 1996 Dodge Ram 1500 Truck. He probably takes the cake.

I've had mine since I was 16. That puts me at a whole 3 years! Otherwise I'm pretty sure merc225hp has had his 96' since new. That's a pretty good run.
