95 Oxidizer Special
Yes! It was really constipated. I cut the cat apart, the honey comb thing shifted and was at almost a 45 degree angle. Seems to have a little more power now that it's breathing well. I'd like to get a set of shorty headers for it at some point.
First tank of fuel we checked the MPG 363/19.7= 18.4 I'm a bit skeptical, I'll have to check again some time. Normally short trips and idling because it was cold yet, so we don't check it. I hope I remember next time we take some longer trips. If It's near that number again, I'll be installing another electric fan in our Excursion.
Corey ( future son) bought a 95 ?2500 for the 12 valve cummins. I'm getting what's left, I haven't seen it yet though. I want the axles for sure, mine are so rusty. I hope they have lower gears. Someone robbed the axle shafts out of the front axle though. I've heard someone makes a 2 piece shaft for the right side. Maybe I can get it and eliminate the CAD altogether. The box is supposed to be nicer, so I'm a bit excited to get it.

The front axles on these trucks can be confusing. They are actually three-piece from the factory.

Yes, that's what I'm talking about, a 1 piece inner and the outer stub. I have the Posi Lok on my truck now, the one that keeps it locked all the time. The CAD helps binding when turning, but the axle shafts are splined to the hubs so at least the spider gears are spinning. I'm not sure the CAD does much for fuel mileage. I wish they had lock out hubs yet. If I buy new ones it may be cheaper than the factory set up. I'll probably check salvage prices though.

Not confused at all. He clearly says "two piece on the right side" to which I was responding. If we count the left side (not referenced in the query) then yes, it is three pieces.
The passenger side has the inner axle, the outer axle, (to the u-joint) and then the shaft that goes thru the hub. Some folk don't count the pieces with a u-joint as 'separate', some folks do.
