I used the Dodge website for a build sheet. This other truck has a Dana M70 rear axle with Anti-spin differential. Is that a limited slip with clutch packs or something else?

I haven't see anyone talking about that issue on a truck with a full-floating rear......

The build sheet says it has an Anti-spin differential. What is that? A clutch type limited slip? From what I can find, it's possibly a Power Lok. It's supposed to be a Dana 70 with 3:55 gears.

So what do you think of it? It's a lot less rusty. Both cabs need repair. Would it be easier to move the SLT stuff into my cab or move my PCM and whatever else is needed to use my 360/ 46 RH with the other cab? It had a cummins.

I think moving motors would be easier.... provided both trucks are of the same 'sub-generation'.

Anti-spin is Dodges term for 'limited slip". Likely it is a clutch type. I have one in my truck as well, 132K miles, still works great. No clue what the manufacturers name for it is. (yes, I also have a d70 rear)

Are both trucks 2500's?

The green one is a 95 1500 360 46RH 231. The black one I just bought is a 95 2500. It had a cummins and a 47RH, but was converted to a manual tranny at some point. Anyhow Corey bought it for the engine/trans/transfer case and I bought what's left. It has the SLT package.

The frame on the 1500 is rusting through and cracking. The seats for the coil springs are rusting off the axles. My engine/trans/ transfer case have to go on the 2500 frame. Should I use my cab and try to swap the SLT stuff (power windows, more speakers) into it? Or use the 2500 cab that's wired for a cummins and swap my PCM and engine harness onto it?

Use the cab that is in better condition, and put the stuff you want on that.

So will my PCM and engine harness plug in? Is it really that simple? I'll try searching for other swap threads. I typically suck at that though, apparently I use different words than everyone else. LOL If you know of anywhere I can do some research let me know. It will be a little bit before I get into this. I need to fix our Excursion before I tear the Dodge apart. Hopefully I can get started on the frame and axles though and fix the wheel wells on the box.

Should be a direct swap.

Just a little tip anything from 97 down will work just by swapping engines (as long as engine is the same and same drivetrain like both are auto or both are manual) you could use the harness in the truck as long as the engines are the same. Now if the engine isn't the same you just take your engine harness and swap it in. Where things changed is 98. You can still use your engine harness just have to buy a 98-02 computer (depending on the year) and put it in. But again don't need to see your engine harness if it had the same engine. Now if that 96 2500 had a 46re tranny you could have just swapped your motor and had an obd2 truck
